I love the idea of getting my Audi A6 4.2 repaired right in my own neighborhood. Fares and his troops are well-trained, always take good care of me. I trust him to do the right thing, I am happy to report that my car is running perfectly, and I am never "nickel-and-dimed." I wouldn't go anywhere else.
- by Victor R. - 01/12/2011

Excellent, fast service and reasonable pricing. In my opinion, an impeccable business.
- by Jordan S. - 01/07/2011

Fares and John are the best!
I have been taking my car there for the last year. Why waste your money at the stealership when these are here! They don't nickel and dime you and only recommend services you actually need.
- by Ly Y. - 01/02/2011

Well what can i say besides the fact that my car was ready on time, the price was right, the service was professional from the time I walked in to the time I picked-up the car, kudos, to you and your staff Fares, for making my experience a good one.

I've been looking for a local (near Pasadena area) shop that specializes in Audis as I don't particularly trust other independent "German" shops or even non-German shops. I was originally taking my car to the dealership (thinking that the dealership would be the only shop that honors my extended warranty from Fidelity). Turns out, Independent Audi also honors my warranty. Yay!
Made a call or two to schedule a time to drop it off and I spoke to John who used to work at Rusnak Pasadena (where I used to take my Audi) for over 9+ years. He just got hired by Fares, another previous Rusnak Pasadena mechanic who's been there for 10+ years and is currently the owner of Independent Audi. Both are very professional and definitely know what they're talking about.
I brought my car into check some small issues as well as get my front inner CV boot replaced (I brought my own parts) as it was not covered under my extended warranty. Since they worked with Fidelity numerous times, they knew pretty much what was covered and what was not the moment I mentioned it (unlike Rusnak Pasadena).
They also were more than happy to inspect all the other concerns I had (oil leaks, water leaks, glove box light, cracks, etc.) withOUT charging me (unlike Rusnak).
I ended up waiting roughly 3 hours for them to fix my CV boot and it only cost me less than $240. Great deal and they're super friendly and professional.
Would highly recommend them for any and all repairs. They sure know what they're doing and they don't BS you.
FYI: I have a 2005.5 Audi S4 (B7 body) with approximately 81,xxx miles.

Fares and his team are outstanding. We have 3 Audi's and many customers look for a solid independent shop once their cars come out of warranty (as before that time there is usually no costs). Anyway, the challenge is finding a shop who is RELIABLE, reasonable cost, service-oriented, etc.
Independent is clean, well organized and Fares makes sure you are satisfied but most important does the small things (at no or nominal charge) that most would simply overlook. Oh yes - I pass many shops just to get to Fares as I live in Los Angeles. Just the other day, our A4 engine light came on and I had it towed 19 miles to have repaired (oh yeah - on Sat. when my wife had returned from errands and told me about the light, it was about 7pm so I figured I would call and leave a message to alert Fares we would be having the car towed on Monday......TO MY SURPRISE FARES ANSWERED THE CALL!!!!!!)
Finally, with the addition to John, Independent will need more space.

It's been about 9 months since I brought my 2006 Passat in for new front brakepads and rotors. I had the parts in storage for a while since I got a fantastic deal on them with the rears. The rears wore out at 45k, but the fronts were still good so I put them into storage. At 80k, I figured it would be time to put in new fronts since they didn't feel as solid at they did before. I bring the car in, and they inspected them using a mirror and said that the brakes are still fine. No need to change, but if I had the time, they'd be willing to put the car on the lift as a courtesy. They put it on the lift, remove the wheels, and bring me over. They said the brakes were still at 50% wear and didn't need a change. I told them that since it was already on the lift, go ahead and change them out of convenience for me.
They get it done. Their labor rates are about average for an honest shop. Less than a dealership, but more than a run of the mill shop. That's okay, because they were honest. I'd rather pay more to an honest shop upfront than end up paying even more to a dishonest shop on the back end.
- by Lawrence W. - 12/15/2010

Took my A3 to Fares @ Independent Audi this morning at 9am. Got my usual oil change and replaced some brake light bulbs. I was in and out in less than 45 minutes.
Fares and Silvia always hook it up. ALWAYS. Besides the FREE refreshments... their service is by far the BEST in SOCAL. They even hired John K who used to work at RUSNAK for years. A 100% upgrade.
If you want the best service in Southern California. I highly recommend Independent Audi & VW. These guys dont beat around the bush. They never add those extra costs on your invoice. They didnt even charge me for the light bulbs
Ill never go backto the dealerships for my service. These guys at Independent are the leaders in excellent service.
Thanks again!

I originally intended to give this place 4/5 stars because the repairs were not cheap. But when you decide to purchase a European car you should be aware that repairs will never be cheap. And if you compare Fares' prices to the dealer, then you realize they're not unreasonable.
After reading so many positive reviews on this place, I decided to take my 2007 A4. Everyone is right about Fares. Soft spoken nice guy and I couldn't help but to trust him. Very rare to get that feeling. I felt like he was honest and knowledgeable about these cars which is proven with the plaques on his wall. He immediately diagnosed the problem and then called me with a quote. The work was done quickly. The shop is very clean and it's very professional! I'm very relieved to have found a shop for my A4 after being disappointed with the Audi dealerships.
- by Cesar M. - 10/10/2010

What can i say other besides Fares and Sylvia run a great operation at their shop. I found them on yahoo, due to the fact the dealer(penske audi) i went to didn't seem like they knew too much about what was going on, I went in for a 55,000 mile service for my 2.0T A4 and they ended up doing a service for a 1.8T.....i caught it at the register and i had to question the service writer, who then had to take my car back and replace my spark plugs, took more time than needed. I'm really picky on who works on my car, so i tried Fares, and was extremely impressed with his knowledge. I recently had my clutch replaced my them, Fares informed me that my flywheel had mulitple hotspots, replacing the clutch and flywheel would have hit my wallet for 2500.00! I asked him to see what he could do, he removed the hotspots (very difficult considering it was a dual mass flywheel) and saved me about a 1000.00! Taking it home i found no clutch chatter at all(which is what one would expect if the flywheel wasn't up to new standards) and had a blast driving it home. With Fares and company around, it makes me feel comfortable to finally buy an RS4. Having a trustworthy repair shop is just as important to me as having a trustworthy Dr. Thanks again Fares and Sylvia!
- by James - 09/29/2010

Believe the hype.
After discovering this place on Yelp I scheduled an appointment over the phone and brought in my VW Tiguan. Pulling into the driveway I was greeted by Fares immediately and even greeted me by my name before introducing myself.
I was originally quoted about an hour to an hour and a half for the service but they actually got it done in 45 minutes to replace my brake pads! This was great because I always waited 2-3 hours at the Pasadena dealership just for a simple oil change!
The waiting room was also nicely decorated and you could tell they put some real thought into it making it a comfortable waiting area for the customers. They had complimentary beverages such as bottled water, pineapple juice, variety of sodas, coffee and more.
I was really iffy about putting this up on Yelp because it would draw in the masses to Fares but honestly he deserves the business and just made a customer for life! We need more honest mechanics like Fares.
THUMBS UP WAY UP
- by Dak L. - 09/25/2010

Definitely the best auto service I have ever received. Fares is a master of his craft, but better yet, he cares about his customer. Every interaction and service I have done there solidifies my resolve to never go anywhere else. He is also far cheaper than any dealer you will ever go to, believe me, I've compared the costs...
- by Stephen G. - 08/24/2010

10 Star Service! Simply the BEST! My A6 now drives better than ever thanks to Fares.... Can't thank you enough Fares and his team.
Thanks a million.
Lifetime customer.
- by Catherine - 08/10/2010

I cannot say enough about Fares and his lovely wife Sylva. They are the epitome of professional and kind. I have a 2002 Audi Allroad that constantly needs some kind of tweaking and Fares is always completely on top of what is needed and never tries to get me to do more services than I need. He even cleaned my light covers when they were faded. He is a lovely, smart guy who absolutely knows what he's doing. Rusnak was my service department before I met Fares, and one of the top service guys at there TOLD ME to go to Fares.... What does THAT tell you?
- by susan j. - 08/04/2010

Today marked my 2nd visit to Independent Audi & VW Service. Before I begin, let me say that I will definitely, without a doubt, be returning to Independent Audi & VW Service for any and every need my Audi may require.
My A4 was misfiring, causing engine shuddering, so I had it towed to the shop. I am NOT kidding when I say that the problem-solving process begain immediately upon my arrival, and the preliminary inspection took literally 5 minutes to complete. I waited patiently as Fares (the owner) and his technician hooked up a diagnostic test unit to my car and found the problem instantly. The removed one ignition coil, put in a new one, and before I could even ask any questions, the problem was solved! I also asked him to replace my air filter. It was a busy day but he told me he could do it, even though I said I could come back. The replacement took what I estimated to be about 10 minutes...yes...extremely fast!
I can not even begin to explain how entirely pleased I am with my experiences here...Fares proves to be not only extremely knowledgeable about my car (and many others), but also exudes a brilliant and honest personality and a dilligent work ethic. He even took time from a busy day to answer a few other questions I had about my car. These qualities and expertise are what will keep me coming back to Independent Audi & VW Service.
- by Tyler M. - 07/17/2010

I just purchased a Audi TT and turned out to have transmission problem had 2 transmission shop look at it and said need to rebuild but they were not sure since its a Audi all computerized one guy even told me he can have the problem resolved for $600. Ok so at this point I had 2 choices 1 take it to these guys who do not know or understand new Audi's or the Dealer. Luckily I remembered Yelp so I looked around and Independent came up with the Best reviews plus all he works on is Audi's and VW. Was over a 20mile drive for me from Beverly Hills but I must say I feel like I made the right choice not Fares looked at the car and within an hour he found the problem ( not the entire transmission ) but a problem with 2nd gear will cost me $1800 and change would have cost $4000 to rebuild transmission.
Thanks Fares and if anyone is thinking of taking their car to this shop DON'T think about it take it to them and get your car back like new.
- by Ruben K. - 07/14/2010

Another 5 star review from me!
Fares and Sylvia did a great, quick, professional job. I'm glad to have this alternative to Rusnak in the Pasadena area!
I previously had tried another independent shop in Van Nuys that is popular with the tuner crowd. They did an OK job but were typical young guys will little experience running a business and it showed in their unprofessional attitude, timeliness and work attitude.
I'll definitely be going back to Independent Audi
- by Lance L. - 06/30/2010

Fares (the owner) is honest and reliable; he does good work; and he knows how to build customer loyalty. I wish I had found this shop years ago!
- by Olivia F. - 06/24/2010

I have an A4 and Q7. When I call the dealer to schedule an appointment for oil change, they give me a date that is at least 1-2 weeks. I call my man Fares and he tells me just bring it in ;). Wow, I give props to Independent Audi, I've never seen such professional and fast car service in my life.
- by Sam - 06/07/2010

Fares speaks in a quiet, calm tone rarely found in mechanics. He re-did my transmission at half the dealers' cost and made some additional fixes very inexpensively . Then he washed the car and wiped down the leather. Outstanding customer service from beginning to end.
- by Drake R. - 06/05/2010

Very trustworthy and transparent car shop.
I went here when it first opened and had great service at a reasonable price. I've been taking my VW here ever since. The owner Fares is a stand-up guy and very honest.
Sometimes I'll take my VW over because of a potential issue and he'll figure out what it is in a sec and fix it on the spot!
Fares is always available to answer questions in person or on the phone. He understands the meaning of true customer service!
- by Al C. - 06/02/2010

I was in a hit and run accident 2 weeks ago. The front right tire fell off the strut, which was severed from the impact, and the car was undrivable. I had my car towed from downtown LA to Independent Audi & VW at 930pm, thinking that Fares could help take a look in the morning. To my surprise the shop was still open! I got a clear assessment of my situation the next morning. Since I only had liability insurance, I couldn't get reimbursed for the damages. Within 3 days Fares ordered the new parts, replace what needed to be replaced, rebuilt what he could salvage (to save me some money) pulled a late night with his team to make sure I didn't have to be without car too many days. This is a stellar team lead by a most knowledgeable owner. I've worked with a mixture of bad and some times quite good mechanic (like most), but I've never been so impressed by such knowledge, dedication and customer service. I found Independent Audi & VW through this yelp search and what a great find this was! Now it's my part to spread the good word. I'm with one of the previous reviewers on this one, so long as I have my VW (or Audi in the future), Fares and his team will be my mechanic.
- by synderela p. - 05/24/2010

This is a great shop! Audi trained Fares is just the kind of guy an Audi owner needs. I have a 2002 S6, and when they see me drive it into the service department at Rusnak, all they see are $$$ signs. Just the reverse with IA&VWS.,Inc. Fares will let you know the best way to go, costing you the least amount of your hard earned money.
I now ONLY trust my S6 to Fares, and I drive from the Marina.
- by Dana M - 05/23/2010

I found Independent Audi by searching Yahoo local. I consider myself lucky to have found Fares who is simply amazing. My daughter destroyed the engine of her 2003 Audi A4 due to coolant leak. The dealer wanted $9,000 to replace the enigne which made no sense. Fares was able to get the car from Santa Barbara, replace the engine and get it back on the road in a week for less than half what the dealer wanted to charge. That was a month ago. The car has been running perfectly. Fares is a true professional who treats you with respect. He explains all your options and helps you make the best informed decision. He comes across as someone who has your best interest in mind because he is one of those rare individuals who is actually interested in building a long term relationship with his customers instead of slamming them for the short term. I know I will be taking that car there for service for a long time. I am now thinking that with a great mechanic, I may consider replacing my Volvo with an Audi. Trustworthy mechanics are a rare commodity.
- by Ross - 05/10/2010

Fares is THE MAN!!!
After moving to Austin, the one thing I missed the most was being able to pull into his shop and knowing that I have complete trust in my mechanic.
Imagine how I felt when all the lights on "Baby" came on and I had to take her to the dealer out here. I had almost given up on her when the dealer quoted me over 12k for a new engine. I immediately called Fares and he sent for the car...yes...my car was transported back to Pasadena from Austin to the trusting hands of my one and only mechanic - Fares!
He sent her back looking and driving even better than before...and of course it wasn't the engine that was the problem, it was the transmission (which cost me a lot less to transport the car back-n-forth then have it fixed here). When I asked Fares how long will my car go for, he said "I fixed it like my own..." I trust him explicitly and so should you! He is the fairest and kindest mechanic/man that I know.
He is Dr Porsche!

Fares is THE MAN!!! I have a '99 Porsche Boxster and no one but Fares is allowed to touch her! She is nearing her 200k mark and it is all thanks to Fares. Having dealt with many mechanics. There are cars in this shop for a reason; they get the job done. Because i am an enthusiast, I was expecting a little bit higher quality on the oil used in my car. Regardless, for the average driver they are honest and you won't get pestered with any repair gimmicks. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience.
- by Patrick M. - 04/17/2010

I've been looking for a reliable/trustworthy mechanic for the last year and I have finally found the place!
Fares and his team are the best! They are honest and professional - the shop is clean and you can tell they take care of their customers. I feel so much more comfortable now that I have found my mechanic for as long as I have my Audi!
- by Roll N. - 03/28/2010

The only place I take my Audi. I had actually heard positive things about Fares back when I leased my first Audi from Rusnak 5 years ago. My armo buddy told me back then that Fares was one of only two master techs at Rusnak who worked on Audi RS4 and RS6 supercars. Now that he has his own place, he has lived up to his great reputation 100% (I completely agree with the other positive reviews of this place). I have brought my Audi here 2X for 35K service and most recently an oil change. Professional, prompt service, a breath of fresh air when it comes to a mechanic shop. Thank you Fares!
- by Dave C. - 03/19/2010

Independent Audi has always given me top notch service. Fares is always available to look at whatever issue I am having and assess it within minutes. Most of the time he tells me it is nothing and I can go on my way...that is businessman looking to build a strong business based on the truth and not a rip off. Fares is honest, professional, personable and nice. I am glad I was fortunate enough to have been referred to him by my Independent Volvo dealer (my wife's car) because I feel like I get a real straight answer from Fares and know my car is in good hands...as well as the driver...ME!!! They get a 12 out of 10 and will always be my mechanic.
Thank you-
Bob
Black 2004 A4 (under powered and cute as hell).

Had to have a new clutch put in my ride & after much searching & direction from a trusted friend I came here. Let me just say this place is 5-star TOP notch all the way. Their great reputation is around for a reason... because they are really that good. Fares is a wonderful & did a fantastic job. I trust him with my car & he is a very fair man. I recommended him whole heartedly.
- by Kelly R. - 01/29/2010

Fares is the most honest, reliable, trustworthy, and skilled mechanic I have ever met. I feel like I'm dealing with my big brother when I stop by his shop to discuss my car problems. That's how trustworthy he is. Plus, he always makes me feel welcomed!
Fares has been working on my car for about two years now. He has done both small and large jobs on my 05 A4 1.8T CVT and I've never been unhappy with any of his work or with his pricing.
I can testify that Fares uses ONLY OEM parts. In July 09 I had a separate shop replace a fuel filter in my car. A few months down the line the filter and pump started givng me problems. I took my car into Fares' shop and he replaced the fuel filter and pump. He showed me the old parts and highlighted how the other independent European repair shop had installed a non OEM fuel filter even though I had requested an OEM filter.
Bottomline, for great, honest and trustworthy service, go see Fares for your VW and Audi repairs. 5 star service!
- by stealership - 01/28/2010

I've been meaning to write a review for Independent Audi for awhile now so this is long overdue. I've now had my car serviced by Fares 3 times and all 3 times, I've come away feeling really good about doing business with him. I've had 2 window regulators changed, brake pads replaced, oil, filter and lube services done, among other things. Each time, Fares provided top-notch service. When I discovered my brake lights were out one time, I pulled into Independent Audi without calling ahead and Fares immediately stopped what he was doing, popped new brake lights in for me free of charge, and sent me on my way within minutes. The benefits of working with Fares instead of Rusnake Audi are numerous, including reasonable pricing.
Fares to me is professional, trust-worthy, and reliable. In May of 2007, I had my car serviced by Rusnak Audi, and by chance, the technician who worked on my car was Fares. If he was qualified to service Audis at the dealership, you can bet he will take care of you at his own shop.
- by Peilun - 01/04/2010

This is the best thing that ever happened to me! Having found Fares gives me so much peace of mind because I am 200 % positive that my VW is in excellent hands and that I am dealing with an honest technician who totally knows what he is doing. Highly recommend, these guys are very and I mean VERY professional.
I would have given them 10 stars if it were possible! 10 stars all the way!
- by Scott - 12/07/2009

I am blown away with these guys!
Honest, professional, extremely good priced, best car shop experience I have ever had. These guy deserve all these good reviews! They have helped me repeatedly. Excellent customer service and even better mechanic, all for a very good price. Very down to earth people that have been a pleasure to do business with. Thank you.
- by Jordan E. - 12/04/2009

I went to Independent Audi & VW under high recommendations and in hindsight, I should have gone somewhere else. Although customer service was good, physical service on my car left a bit to be desired. As an enthusiast, I'm probably more anal about my car than others, but based on the accolades and claims I expected more. To further complicate matters, a few vacuum lines were either broken or left disconnected and a newly replace strut mount bushing failed (after only 2000 miles), leading to excess vibration and inner CV joint failure as well (on the same side). Upon removal and inspection, the bushing used was not OEM, I had to replace bushings on both sides and it leads me to wonder how many other non-OEM parts were used - invalidating their claim that they use all OEM parts.
Only writing facts, not trying to flame the shop. But every story has two sides. As an enthusiast, I would probably stay away from the shop.
- by Greg - 11/17/2009

Highly recommended! Great customer service. Very Clean and Professional. Had a better experience than the dealer.
- by CEO - 11/08/2009

I took my 2005 Audi A4 to Independant as my last hope and now I couldn't be happier. I was ready to burn that car!!!, but Fares fixed it all up and it runs just like new now!! This is thee best place to take your car, Fares and Silva are great honest people that are so hard to come by these days. The work is excellent, prices are great and you feel so good when you pick up your car knowing they've fixed it right the first time...Thank You Silva and Fares!!
- by Sarah - 10/28/2009

The best auto service experience I've ever had. By far.
My '05 A4 was limping around and desperately needed its 10,000 mile service, an oil/filter change, a new brake light, and a new gas cap. I brought it in at 1pm, and received a call 90 minutes later because everything was already done. Less than 100 bucks for everything - Fares didn't even charge me for labor.
The service and professionalism here is absolutely 5-star. I felt very respected and cared for as a customer, and walked away with the sense of satisfaction you can only get from the certainty that you got 100% of your money's worth (since Fares didn't even charge me for labor, I probably got 150% of my money's worth).
You should absolutely do business with these people if you live in the Pasadena area. Even if you're not local to Pasadena, you should still do business with these people. They run their business the right way, and you won't get a better auto service experience anywhere else.
- by Greg - 10/17/2009

I have been taking my Audi A4 to Independent Audi & Vw Service since my warranty ran out and could not be happier!
Fares is very knowledgeable and professional. He always takes the time to explain what they will be doing to your car whether it is a service or a repair.
I also enjoy talking with Sylvia when I call in for an appointment or to ask a question, her customer service skills are excellent!
- by S Lang - 10/06/2009

This place is so good, I find myself looking forward to service visits! A friend referred me and having no other expectations than competent service, I came away amazed. The office does not smell like grease, there isn't 30 years of bad paint jobs on the walls. Fares is an award-winning Audi-certified mechanic and he has done his business right. He takes the time to listen to the reasons I've brought my car in and makes sure the repairs are done properly. This is the best auto service experience I've ever had.
- by T B. - 10/03/2009

This place seems to have everything a mechanic shop should have; professional & friendly customer service, competitive prices, clean facilities, and even complimentary beverages. Head mechanic Fares is straight-forward and honest.
- by Al H. - 09/03/2009

5 STARS!!! What can I say, other than the fact that Independent Audi & VW Service is AWESOME! Fares, the owner, is honest and really knows how to build customer loyalty
Before Fares, I took my wife's VW to a different shop in Playa del Rey. It was in there every 300 miles or so, with the same problem, "CHECK ENGINE" light. After feeling like a sucker every time I brought it into Playa, I took it to Fares. He said that the hose was loose and one of the parts that the other shop changed is backwards. He fixed everything with no charge. I've never had someone take a look, make some minor changes, and then not charge. The light came back on, and he traced it to a catalytic converter. I had that changed, and I haven't had a problem yet. The wife even says it's got that pep back that it lacked before. Thanks FARES for an AWESOME EXPERIENCE. You've definitely got a customer for life.
- by Wayne C. - 08/25/2009

I have been using Fares and his team for a couple of months to look after my VW beetle and cannot speak highly enough of them. They go out of their way to provide excellent service and advice, but do not charge and arm and a leg. They also use quality parts; not off market or second hand parts that wear out just after the (so called) warranty expires. Other local VW repairers may be nice guys but Independent Audi and VW Service is the real deal!
- by Ozefish - 08/18/2009

I cannot think of one time that they denied service to me.
Even on days that they are full they will find even 5 min to help you find out what the problem is with your car.
From just inquires on lights that go off in your car to sounds your car is making.I really don't have anything negative to say about this place.
Fares really knows how to take care of his costumers and having coming back each time.
- by Edd G. - 08/17/2009

This is my first review- I felt compelled to write something because I'm so pleased with the service at Independent Audi and I know how frustrating it can be to find an honest mechanic.
My wife has a 2003 Audi TT. It's a nice car, but it requires a lot of attention to keep it happy. Fares has been looking after the car for a couple of years now, so I think I have a good sense of his business practice.
The garage is clean and organized, everyone who works there is polite and professional, and Fares works to keep costs as reasonable as possible. I trust his opinion and I trust the integrity of the work he does.
It's also great that Fares and his wife are very personable, and genuinely interested in their clients.
I've been very pleased with my experience and I recommend Independent Audi without reservation.
- by lansing - 08/12/2009

Yes, his name is Fares and he is great, indeed.
We use to go to Steve's Independent Volkswagen & Audi Service or Steve's Garage down the road on foothill but we realized we were taken for a ride after two years of going to them. When the owner of steve's garage told us "you need to get rid of your piece of junk" instead of fixing the problem and charging us 2,000 dollars of work we knew it was time to turn to somebody else, someone dependable.
That person is Fares of Independent Audi & VW service, inc. We took my wife's 2001 VW jetta to Fares and right away he made room for us in his very clean garage and was very cordial and kind to us. He found what the problem with car was and quoted us a very low price and kept his word.
When it was time to pick up our VW, after the work had been completed, we took the car home and he said "pay me tomorrow, I need to explain a couple of things about the car to you". My initial thought was: what a way to build trust with your clients. I just met Fares and he is trusting that I will come again to his shop. You know what? Fares is completely right I will keep coming. I don't have a VW or an Audi, only my wife, but with mechanics like Fares I'm considering buying an Audi so I can have Fares at Independent Audi & VW Service, Inc. maintain it.
Final thought: Don't go to Steve's Independent Volkswagen & Audi Service. You need to go to Independent Audi & VW Service, Inc. and ask for Fares. He will take care of you.

Go here only if you want quality work on your car by people who care. Otherwise go to any of the other LA area shops or dealers who will charge more for far less. Feres delivers!
Thanks again for all the quality work on the S4 and taking care of the small and big repairs.

I just picked up my car and felt something I didn't expect; Delight. Fares runs an exceedingly professional shop. Easy to talk to, courteous, prompt, I just found my new mechanic. He came in 55% below the dealer quote for the repair, had the car washed, vacuumed, and waiting for me with the AC on. That was a nice touch. I have no hesitation recommending him to anyone else.

This is a great operation. I purchased a used Audi, and Fares was great at rushing to inspect it for me. He (and SIlva) then made every accommodation to service the vehicle for me. They even came in under their estimate for a major service interval. They were a pleasure to work with, and do great work. Do not hesitate to take your car to them, they will not disappoint. I wish all service centers were like this one.

Yesterday I took my car to Fares and crew at Independent Audi and VW Service and once again was so very pleased with their work. I feel confident in the service I receive and they are genuinely the nicest people. They could have recommended all kinds of work for my car, but told me all I needed was an alignment. It’s nice to have a place you can trust. Thank you to Fares, Silva, Nick and the rest of the people who work there.

I HAVE AN A4 AND EVERYTIME I WOULD HAVE PROBLEMS WITH IT I WOULD CALL FARES AND EXPLAIN WHAT WAS GOING ON AND HE KNEW RIGHT AWAY WHAT WAS WRONG. I TOOK IT TO HIM AND IN LESS THAN 5 MIN MY CAR WAS FIXED.. A BROKEN PART IN MY CAR WAS ALSO FIXED IN NO TIME. THE WORK IS DONE PERFECT AND NOT SLOPPY AND HE GIVES A REASONABLE PRICE. HIS SERVICE IS GREAT AND I WILL BE GOING BACK NEXT TIME.. ; ) YOUR THE BEST FARES!! : )

I RECENTLY BOUGHT A WOLFSBURG JETTA. LOOKING FOR A COMPETENT MECHANIC, I FOUND FARE. I WENT TO HIS ESTABLISHMENT FOR AN OIL CHANGE, AND NOT ONLY WAS AN OIL CHANGE GIVEN, BUT HE ALSO ROTATED THE TIRES (NO CHARGE). I REALLY BELIEVE IT'S VERY DIFFICULT TO GET A GOOD MECHANIC. IN MY OPINION HE'S NOT JUST A MECHANIC, HE DEFINATELY A TECHNICIAN. READY FOR ANY PROBLEM. I TELL EVERY0NE THAT HAS A VW/AUDI TO TRY HIM. BEING OPTIMISTIC FOR GOOD VW/AUDI CARE A GAMBLE. TO BE SURE, SEE FARES.......HONEST,AND VERY REASONABLE..

Top Notch Quality Service! That's all I have to say! I am so happy having found Fares, an extraordinary technician who provides an extraordinary service and quality of work...at a very reasonable price..... What can I say, you have to go and experience it yourself and you WIll know what I'm talking about! No doubt about that!
God Bless you FARES!
Antoine!

I started coming here about 1 year ago, just shortly after Fares' grand opening. The word to describe my first and every experience thereafter, would be genuine. Fares is not only superbly skilled as a mechanic, he carries with him a professional staff who falls second to none. In my short 32 years of life, I have met very few trustworthy and honorable people on a first impression-let alone, a mechanic who upholds these traits. After reading these reviews, it is no surprise that others share his integrity with me, rescinding the phrase, "It's so hard to find a good mechanic you can trust." If you are looking for somewhere or someone to take your vehicle to, look no longer. I travel from Chino Hills and would triple the drive without thinking twice about it. Fares' recommendations are forthright and straightforward. I congradulate him on a successful first year and it is an honor to know him and his wonderful wife, who both run the business. Personally, I think he should change the spelling of his name to "Fair-es" ! ;) Although, there is one drawback that hinders all of us who have recently dedicated ourselves to him...
There can only be one.
Fair-Fares, Rock on!

LISTEN UP PEOPLE. If you live within 50 miles of Independent Audi & VW Service, Inc. you are crazy to take your car anywhere else. The owner, Fares is a former Rusnak top-notch mechanic who is highly skilled and he has assembled a team that will blow your mind. You will know immediately that you are not being scammed because the level of skill is matched by their integrity and honest approach. It is rare to see anymore, but Fares and his wife Sylva have built a business caring about their reputation. They will do everything to make sure you are completly satisfied. I could not recommend Independent Audi & VW Service, Inc. more highly and thank them for being in business.

I drive an Audi S4 Convertible that's still under warranty but was looking to add on some aftermarket goodies. I wanted to change the factory exhaust among other things and Fares from Independent Audi came highly recommended. I asked around because my car was purchased and serviced from Rusnak Audi in Pasadena where Fares worked before. Needless to say, the guy knows his stuff and worked on much higher end cars than mine at Rusnak. I took my car to Independent Audi and am very happy with the quality of work peformed and even more, at a reasonable price! BUT WAIT - THE MOST IMPORTANT REASON WHY HE WILL BE SERVICING MY CAR FROM NOW ON is because of his honesty and integrity!! He could have sold me a bunch of other things that I would have willingly purchased to increase the performance of my car but he didn't. He told me I would be wasting money and "while he wanted the business, he couldn't in good conscious" recommend I purchase those particular products. He could have made a lot more money off of me but he didn't. An expert mechanic with integrity? Now that's a contradiction if I've ever heard one! The fact of the matter is that's it's true! I had never met Fares and I was literally off the street and I feel he treated as if he had known me for years. I can't recommend him enough. It's good to know I have a mechanic I can trust once my warranty runs out. Give him a try, you'll see what I mean.

Excellent work! I had been previously going to my local vw dealer and paying outrageous prices for maintenance and repairs. One incident had come up where I needed to have my computer system checked and I had called the dealership and they wanted to charge me $150 just to diagnose the problem. I was extremely upset since I had been giving them all of my business since I had purchased the car. It was the best thing for me, I found Independent Audi on Yahoo. Well, it's been two vists since...Once for my 70k service and then for a brake job. I just made an appointment for this Saturday for some maintenance. Personally, for the service, knowledge, quality and pricing, I am willing to drive the distance to a private automotive shop that works exclusively with Audi & VW. The dealers charge way too much!!! Independent Audi provides Audi/VW parts, not third party parts! Be weary of independent shops that price extremely cheap - they are giving you third party parts. Give them a shot! You will not be disappointed.

The best thing that ever happened to me and my Audi was when I discovered Fares. And this was back in 1997. He has been working on my cars ever since and I would travel extra just to have him work on my car! I think the most important thing about a mechanic and for any type of repair is to be able to establish trust and I trust Fares completely. Most of the time it's just normal maintenance but I'm sure because of Fares' recommended preventive maintenance I have not had any major problems. If you want to be talked down to and ripped off go to a dealer. If you want quality service at very reasonable prices go see Fares. One more thing I must add is that anyone can go to a school and pass some tests and throw a certificate on the wall. That doesn't make somebody a good mechanic. It takes experience and dedication to be a great mechanic which Fares is. But if certification is important for you Fares has those as well!

I took my Audi in to get serviced for a major service. I got better service then at the dealership but, for about half the cost! They have Audi trained and certified technicians working there that made me feel very comfortable about leaving my car in there hands. The car runs great now.. I would definetly recommend it to anyone over the high dealership fee's and hassles. I recommend that you ask for Fares! He will take great care of you.

Best service ever, top notch quality will not go back to the dealer
- by cuatroanillos - 08/08/2008

excellent service for my audi! They were both friendly and knowledgeable. Provided an accurate time/cost estimate and delivered as promised. Would definately recommend.

Wouldn't take my A6 anywhere else. Fares is a great, trustworthy mechanic that knows his stuff. Will be recommending him to all my fellow Audi owners.

This was the absolute best place I have ever gone to for any kind of servicing to be done to my cars. I have had a good share of cars in the past and have been to all types of mechanics and body shops from private shops to huge dealerships and let me tell you nothing comes anywhere close to the level of professionalism and service that I received with Fares. He is the true doctor of cars but the only exception is, unlike medical doctors, Fares always, I repeat "ALWAYS" has a cure for your car no matter the situation. I refuse to get my car serviced anywhere else now. Even if my car has free scheduled maintenance, I still take it to Fares, because I care about the long term life of my cars and know it will have added value for the future if I ever decide to sell my car. I have yet to see one of my referrals complain or say anything but wonderful things about how Fares takes care of their cars. Fares always goes the extra mile without hesitation when you need him to. Like the one time I absolutely needed servicing done to my car because I had planned a long distance trip with my family the next day. I approached Fares with my situation very last minute, it was actually past business hours, and Fares still was able to understand how important this trip was for me and my family. He personally reassured me and my family that we had nothing to worry about or be afraid of going on this long distance trip because he would have the car ready for us in perfect condition ready for our vacation by the next day. This gave me and my family peace of mind and therefore my family and I were able to enjoy our vacation. Just remember the longer you wait, the more you hurt your car so don't waste any more time and money and go see Fares!

Knowledgeable, and extremely friendly. Almost felt like i was taking my car for a spa treatment. Got my timing belt done, and a major car service. Fares gives great prices (a steal compared to the "stealership). Owner used to work at an Audi dealer, so he knows his stuff......

Totally recommend!!!

They are very fair, friendly and knowledgeable about Audi's. The owner is an Audi factory certified technician. I just had a major engine rebuild on my 2002 A6. It has never sounded better or run smoother. I will be going back for my regular maintenance.
